APGA chieftain lauds Obiano for granting 26 prisoners state pardon

Member, Board of Trustees (BoT) of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, has commended
the state Governor Willie Obiano for granting pardon to 26 prisoners during the country’s 55th Independence anniversary.
The Ogirisi Igbo made the remark when he received about 5,000 members of the Association of Igbo Youths Initiative Movement (AIYIM) that stormed his Rojenny Tourist/Games Village, Oba, to seek his permission to reorganise the group.
Ezeonwuka applauded the group for its sensitisation exercise during the voter registration, saying it should at all times remember that the power to elect credible people into elective offices is now in the people’s hands.
He warned the youths not to allow themselves to be used to cause mayhem, adding that Anambra government would not fold its hands and allow anyone or group to destabilise the state.
He said: “A true Igbo youth must be seen to be in his best behaviour. The era of harassing innocent people is over. Don’t forget that “ the AIYIM was founded on the basis that its members must be law-abiding and must defend and protect the lives and property of every law-abiding citizen living in Igbo land. Extortion, intimidation, illegal detention, flogging, reprisal attacks, mob action, illegal seizure of people’s property are not the foundation on which AIYIM was founded. All members must desist from such acts. AIYIM must partner with law enforcement agencies to stop these notorious behaviours, which many hoodlums have been practicing in Igbo land.”
AIYIM, under Ogirisi must be the example of how our youths must behave. You should engage in skills acquisition, give information to law enforcement agencies as the quickest way to flush out criminals, sensitize the people to be politically aware that their vote is now their power to turn things around for the better.”
He called on all to see Governor Obiano as a messiah sent by God. “This is the only Igbo governor that performed the long awaited burial of Biafra War heroes on January 12, 2015 and decreed that every January 12 will now be Remembrance Day. He has also taken APGA to the next level and with the way he is going, soon APGA will control the entire south east region,” he said.
